Job Description

  • Develop and maintain application features that meet business and technical needs.
  • Review existing application functions and improve reliability, usability and maintainability.
  • Investigate application issues, identify root causes and deliver timely fixes.
  • Test new and updated functions to help ensure stable releases.
  • Work with Technology colleagues to clarify requirements and translate them into practical application changes.
  • Document application designs, changes and issue resolutions for clear ongoing maintenance.
  • Monitor application performance and address issues that affect normal system use.
  • Contribute to release activities and help ensure changes are deployed in a controlled manner.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Application Engineer should have:

  • Practical capability in application development and maintenance.
  • Experience investigating application issues and resolving technical problems.
  • Ability to test application changes and identify potential defects.
  • Ability to turn technical and business requirements into clear application solutions.
  • Experience documenting technical changes and application processes.
  • Ability to work effectively with colleagues in a Technology department.
