Job Description

  • Develop Python-based applications that meet agreed business and technical needs.
  • Maintain existing applications and resolve issues to help ensure reliable day-to-day use.
  • Review application requirements and turn them into clear technical solutions.
  • Write readable, maintainable code and update documentation where needed.
  • Test application changes before release to help identify defects early.
  • Investigate application issues and implement practical fixes.
  • Work with relevant Technology colleagues to coordinate application changes and releases.
  • Improve application performance and usability through ongoing code updates.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Application Engineer - Python should have:

  • Practical ability to develop and maintain applications using Python.
  • Experience translating application requirements into workable technical solutions.
  • Ability to test code changes and investigate application defects.
  • Knowledge of writing clear, maintainable code.
  • Ability to review and update technical documentation.
  • Experience working with colleagues on application changes and releases
