Job Description

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and analytics infrastructure on cloud platforms.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, build, and optimize ETL and data processing pipelines
  • Develop and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure with a focus on scalability, cost efficiency, and performance
  • Ensure data accuracy through validation processes, quality checks, and monitoring
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on platform enhancements, development planning, and releases
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to investigate data-related inquiries and resolve anomalies
  • Work closely with reliability and platform teams to improve system stability, governance, and observability
  • Leverage generative AI tools and AI agents to improve engineering productivity and operational efficiency
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and proactively identify opportunities to enhance data platforms and workflows

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Required Skills & Experience

  • At least 5 years of experience developing data pipelines, analytics platforms, or comparable systems
  • Hands-on experience building, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL/data pipelines, particularly within GCP environments
  • Strong foundational knowledge of SQL, Python, shell scripting, and general computer science concepts
  • Understanding of web and application analytics concepts, including sessions and conversions
  • Practical experience using generative AI, AI coding assistants, or AI agents in daily engineering work
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams
  • A proactive mindset, strong ownership, and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience driving initiatives from concept through execution
  • Ability to work effectively in an asynchronous working environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AI frameworks and tools to automate workflows and improve development efficiency
  • Experience with BigQuery, Managed Spark, or other GCP data services
  • Experience with pipeline orchestration and CI/CD implementation
  • Spark performance tuning and troubleshooting expertise
  • Experience with Databricks or similar modern data platforms
  • Knowledge of data modeling and analytics-focused ETL architecture
  • Experience with data QA, regression testing, and analytics output validation
  • Experience performing data analysis and reporting activities
