Job Description

  • Test ETL processes to confirm that data is extracted, transformed and loaded as intended.
  • Review source data and output data to identify errors, gaps and unexpected results.
  • Create and run test cases for data pipelines, including functional and regression testing.
  • Record defects clearly and provide relevant details to support efficient investigation.
  • Verify fixes by retesting data workflows and confirming expected results.
  • Check data quality across ETL outputs, including completeness, consistency and accuracy.
  • Work with Technology colleagues to clarify data issues and improve testing coverage.
  • Maintain clear test records to support ongoing ETL quality checks.

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Data ETL QA Engineer' should have:

  • Practical ability to test ETL workflows and data pipelines.
  • Experience reviewing data sets to identify quality issues and inconsistencies.
  • Ability to create structured test cases and document test results clearly.
  • Capability to investigate defects and validate fixes through retesting.
  • Understanding of data extraction, transformation and loading processes.
  • Ability to work with technical colleagues on data-related issues.
