Job Description

  • Develop, test, deploy, and maintain data infrastructure and applications supporting master data management.
  • Design and build batch applications using Spring Boot.
  • Create and optimize ETL pipelines using Apache Beam and cloud-based data processing services.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders on detailed design, implementation, and quality improvements.
  • Work with large datasets across relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and support production operations.
  • Contribute to database schema design, SQL optimization, and performance evaluation.
  • For more experienced candidates, participate in requirements gathering and system design activities.
  • Utilize cloud technologies and Infrastructure as Code practices to build scalable solutions.



The Successful Applicant

  • 4+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering or Data Engineering with a strong data focus.
  • 2+ years of experience with Java (1.8+) and Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on experience building batch applications with Spring Boot.
  • Experience creating ETL pipelines using Apache Beam.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and performance-focused development.
  • 1+ year of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with services such as Cloud Run, BigQuery, Dataflow, and GCP networking components.
  • Experience managing infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL) and NoSQL databases.
  • Solid understanding of schema design, SQL tuning, and database performance optimization.
  • Experience with Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills in detailed design and development environments.
  • Business-level English communication skills.
  • Conversational-level Japanese communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using AI-supported coding or testing tools.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing technologies such as Apache Spark.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs.
  • Front-end development experience with Vue.js or React.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies.
