A leading global fintech platform operating at scale in Japan, supporting major e‑commerce merchants with cloud, high‑availability payment and merchant solutions.

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services for merchant platforms and integrations
  • Architect and deliver APIs and system components with a focus on scalability and reliability
  • Collaborate with product, business, and engineering stakeholders in a fully English-speaking environment
  • Contribute to system stability, security, and compliance through robust design
  • Identify and prevent production issues through proactive, resilient engineering
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices

The Successful Applicant

  • 5+ years of experience as a backend or software engineer
  • Strong skills in at least one statically typed language (e.g. Scala, Java, Rust, Python)
  • Experience building scalable, distributed systems and APIs
  • Solid understanding of software architecture and cloud environments
  • Comfortable working and communicating entirely in English
  • Japanese language skills are not required
