You will manage project planning, execution, risk, and reporting to ensure software projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to high quality standards.

A large, well‑established Japanese technology company that operates one of the country's biggest online marketplaces. It runs a high‑traffic e‑commerce platform used by millions of users and merchants, and continuously invests in improving its systems through large‑scale, long‑term software development projects to support business growth and platform stability.

Job Description

  • Lead and support end‑to‑end delivery of software development projects for a large‑scale e‑commerce platform.
  • Define project scope, timelines, and deliverables in collaboration with product, engineering, and business teams.
  • Track progress, manage risks, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at high quality.
  • Act as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing clear status updates and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with QA and development teams to support testing, release readiness, and smooth deployment.

The Successful Applicant

  • Has 3+ years of hands‑on project management experience in software/system development, acting as the main PM responsible for planning, execution, and progress tracking.
  • Has a proven track record of delivering software projects, with solid understanding of SDLC and experience managing schedules, scope, and risks.
  • Is familiar with software platforms and technologies such as e‑commerce systems, APIs, microservices, or CMS environments.
  • Is comfortable using project management tools like Jira, Jira Advanced Roadmaps, Confluence, and MS Office for tracking and reporting.
  • Has strong communication skills, able to coordinate effectively with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders in business‑level English and conversational Japanese.
