Our client is a large, well-established technology and telecommunications group operating complex enterprise systems to support corporate customers. The organisation is known for its strong engineering culture, large-scale data environments, and long-term system modernisation initiatives in Japan.

Job Description

  • Support and enhance BI reports used by corporate sales teams on a daily basis
  • Review and validate SQL queries created by internal system teams
  • Design and build ETL processes within a BI platform based on business requirements
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve data and report-related issues
  • Process and transform data from a NoSQL database into relational databases for reporting
  • Conduct testing and support release activities in coordination with stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with business users to translate reporting needs into technical solutions

The Successful Applicant

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with relational databases
  • 7+ years of SQL development experience in a production environment
  • 3-5 years of Python experience, including new development, root-cause analysis, and bug fixing
  • Experience with additional programming or scripting languages
  • Business-level Japanese and English communication skills (both required)

Nice to Have:

  • Practical experience with DOMO or similar BI tools
  • Experience with Couchbase or other document-based / NoSQL databases
  • Knowledge of API integrations
  • Additional language skills such as Chinese
