A top-tier global financial services firm with a strong presence in investment banking and asset management. The Tokyo office plays a key role in valuation control across Asia, working closely with teams in Hong Kong, London, and New York.

Job Description

  • Perform valuation control for private assets including Credit, Equity, and Property.
  • Conduct price verification and mark reviews for Japan Macro (Rates and FXEM) inventories, including vanilla and exotic derivatives.
  • Collaborate with global valuation teams to align methodologies and consolidate data.
  • Present valuation assessments to internal committees and respond to audit/regulatory queries.
  • Produce valuation risk reports and model review documentation.
  • Engage with front office teams to challenge pricing methodologies where needed.

The Successful Applicant

  • 2-7 years of experience in valuation, market risk, or quantitative analysis, ideally with exposure to derivatives or private assets.
  • Strong academic background in finance, mathematics, engineering, or related fields.
  • Solid understanding of derivative pricing models; programming skills (Python/VBA) are a plus but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills; Japanese language is not required but advantageous.
  • Team-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-border environment.
