In the Asia-Pacific region, the organization employs about 250 professionals across nine country offices, actively involved in the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy projects.

Job Description

  • Support the origination, structuring, and closure of profitable solar acquisitions, playing a key role in asset origination and acquisition.
  • Facilitate project financial models, collaborating with Finance, Engineering, and Legal teams to ensure alignment with underwriting guidelines, investment metrics, and projected cash flows. Conduct sensitivity analyses and propose optimization strategies for valuation.
  • Coordinate with functional teams for due diligence and financial model inputs, qualifying project investments before executing acquisition documents.
  • Prepare comprehensive memos and presentations for senior management and the investment committee.
  • Develop and manage tools to monitor market activity, tracking internal origination strategy for the identification of new growth areas.
  • Support ongoing origination, development, and financing activities for projects, including pricing analysis, bidding strategy formulation for offtake contracts and development portfolios.
  • Conduct statistical analyses to quantify risk in highly structured transactions.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to address obstacles in negotiations and closings.
  • Collaborate with functional groups, third-party consultants, and various stakeholders to drive projects forward, employing quantitative analyses to support development and financing decisions.

The Successful Applicant

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree with a distinguished academic performance from a top-tier undergraduate program in finance, business administration, economics, engineering, or computer science.
  • A Master's Degree, CFA, or ongoing education would be advantageous.
  • Accumulate 5+ years of pertinent work experience in origination and acquisition.
  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge in renewable energy, power markets, or infrastructure finance.
  • A proactive individual with a strong ability to independently address challenges and communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analytical and financial modeling, showcasing meticulous attention to detail, with advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint considered essential.
  • Outstanding oral, written, and visual communication abilities, including the capacity to distill complex issues and identify opportunities or next steps.
  • Solid organizational skills, focused on seeking straightforward and efficient solutions.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects/work streams concurrently, setting priorities, and exercising independent judgment.
  • Enthusiastic about developing leadership skills and eager to advance personally and professionally within our organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Japanese and English.
