Job Description

  • Manage sales performance, strategy, and planning for the Marketplace segment of the Direct business.
  • Oversee sales targets for key marketplace platforms like Rakuten and Yahoo.
  • Maximize channel and category profitability through effective margin tracking and recommendations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with marketplace partners, setting volume and revenue targets, and driving growth strategies.
  • Collaborate across departments to align on sales plans, campaign strategies, and risk/opportunity management.

The Successful Applicant

  • Minimum 10 years of sales experience within consumer goods and prominent Japanese e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong grasp of strategic e-commerce dynamics, particularly experience with Amazon.
  • Proficient in P&L management, financial analysis, and delivering sales targets.
  • Skilled negotiator at senior account levels.
  • Experienced in sales and demand planning, with a talent for analytics.
  • Bilingual: Native-level Japanese, business-level English.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technologically savvy, comfortable addressing technical challenges and suggesting solutions.
  • Effective project manager and collaborator, skilled in stakeholder engagement.
