Job Description

  • Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) process: procurement checks, GR/IR review, and payment reconciliation
  • Oversee accruals: recognition and amortization
  • Handle vendor management: verification, maintenance, and SAP payment system operations
  • Ensure accurate AP-related bookings and maintain PL/BS accounts
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings (AP and accruals)
  • Review COGS, expenses, and cost/profit centers
  • Prepare JGAAP adjustments from USGAAP for tax return purposes
  • Support quarterly balance sheet reviews (AP and accrual-related items)
  • Coordinate with Indian shared service team on monthly AP activities
  • Prepare for SOX, internal audits, statutory audits, and tax audits
  • Support global projects including AP automation and AI tools
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to related projects
  • Report directly to the Accounting Manager

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior AP Accountant should have:

  • Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in finance and accounting
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and a strong team player
