The client is a multinational company with a stable team in Japan and overseas. They are well regarded in the industry as well.

Job Description

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll process (payroll vendor), ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees in Japan.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to gather necessary payroll data and information.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, tax regulations, and social insurance requirements in Japan.
  • Review and verify payroll calculations, including salary adjustments, bonuses, overtime, and other compensation-related components.
  • Handle year-end tax procedures, including tax calculations, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Manage and resolve any payroll discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date payroll records and documentation.
  • Stay informed about changes in labor laws and regulations that impact payroll processing.
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as tax advisors or social insurance experts, as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the payroll

The Successful Applicant

  • Fluent in Japanese and business-level English (both written and spoken).
  • Proven experience in payroll management, preferably in a multinational environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws, tax regulations, and social insurance requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive payroll data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
