Responsibilities include identifying and evaluating projects, leading due diligence, securing approvals, closing deals, and supporting the integration of new projects into the company's portfolio.

Job Description

  • Identify and pursue investment opportunities, either directly or through partners, that align with the company's criteria.
  • Conduct initial screening and lead the due diligence process.
  • Prepare materials for internal and investor approvals.
  • Negotiate transaction terms with counterparts and oversee contract preparation (SPA, development agreements, PPAs, etc.), working with relevant teams.
  • Coordinate the closing of approved transactions.
  • Provide post-closing support during the integration phase.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, utilities, authorities, consultants, partners, and customers, to enhance the company's business capabilities.
  • Actively contribute to defining and implementing optimal acquisition and origination strategies for the company.
  • Collaborate with other departments to help them achieve overall company objectives.



The Successful Applicant

  • University degree holder in a relevant field (engineering, business, economics, finance, law, etc)
  • Experience in originating and closing renewable energy transactions (preferably solar) in Japan
  • Self-motivated and able to lead the entire acquisition process.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Foundational knowledge of finance and investment.
  • Basic understanding of financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with Japan's renewable energy sector, particularly solar (PV), with a relevant industry network.
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese.
  • Basic written and spoken English skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the ability to create professional-standard materials.
