About Our Client

As a Key Account Manager specialising in Off-Trade business for our esteemed beverage company based in Hokkaido, you will spearhead the management and expansion of our key accounts within the supermarket and convenience store segments.

Job Description



  1. Key Account Management: Take ownership of key off-trade accounts, including supermarkets and convenience stores, in Hokkaido. Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and buyers to maximize sales opportunities.


  2. Channel Strategy: Develop and execute channel-specific strategies to drive sales and increase market share within the off-trade segment. Identify opportunities for product placement, promotions, and marketing initiatives to enhance brand visibility and drive consumer demand.


  3. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the off-trade channel, including expanding our presence in existing accounts and securing partnerships with new retailers. Collaborate with the sales team to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals.


  4. Promotions and Merchandising: Work closely with marketing and merchandising teams to plan and execute promotional campaigns, product launches, and in-store activation's. Ensure optimal product placement, shelf space, and visibility in supermarkets and convenience stores.


  5. Market Analysis: Conduct regular market analysis to assess competitor activities, consumer trends, and market dynamics within the off-trade segment. Use insights to develop competitive strategies and differentiate our products in the market.


  6. Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with key off-trade accounts to drive profitable growth and secure long-term partnerships. Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and monitor performance against KPIs.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in key account management within the off-trade segment, preferably in the beverage industry.
  • Deep understanding of the off-trade landscape in Hokkaido, including supermarket and convenience store operations, distribution channels, and consumer behaviour.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Japanese and English languages (written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel within Hokkaido and occasionally to other regions as required.
