About Our Client

Job Description
- Provide oversight for all aspects of investment risk, including market risk, fund liquidity risk and fund counterparty risk
- Working closely with global risk colleagues, focus on the implementation of the relevant investment risk oversight frameworks in the region, with a specific focus on Japan and Australia
- Prepare investment risk reports for Boards and Audit & Risk Committees
- Provide relevant management information including the escalation of material issues to senior management, including materials for oversight committees
- Follow up and tracking of risk mitigation plans and actions
- Undertake thematic risk reviews relating to investment risk management matters
- Stakeholder management at all levels across the organisation including the investment and Global Risk Teams
- Develop and maintain a strong external professional network to keep abreast of external developments and ensure they are introduced to the organisation as and when appropriate.
- Establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with all key internal stakeholders
The Successful Applicant
- Proven risk expertise within an asset management or financial services firm.
- Good understanding of the regulatory framework within fund management
- Understanding of the key aspects of investment risk in fund management
- Good knowledge of equities, fixed income and multi-asset products
- Oral and written fluency in Japanese and English
- Ability to work independently, within limited management supervision and to tight deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution focused mindset
- Dedicated to maintaining high standards including attention to detail
