As the HR Director, you will report directly to the General Manager and have a dotted line reporting to the Group HR Director, responsible for all HR-related tasks supporting the business in Japan.

About Our Client

The employer is a publicly listed Chinese company operating in the new energy sector. The Japan office has around 100 employees, mainly from sales, marketing, engineering and other departments.

Job Description

1.Develop and implement HR strategies that support the business objectives of the Japan operations, ensuring alignment with group goals.
2.Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract talent for key roles in the Japan office.
3.Develop and implement workforce planning strategies to ensure the organization has the right talent to meet its future business needs.
4.Manage employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with Japanese labor laws and regulations.
5.Oversee the performance management process, ensuring it aligns with group standards.
6.Collaborate with the group compensation team to design competitive compensation and benefits packages that align with the local market and support talent retention.
7.Develop and implement training programs under group's guidance.
8.Ensure that all HR policies and practices are in compliance with Japanese labor laws and regulations.
9.Work closely with the legal department to manage HR-related risks and ensure the company's operations are legally compliant.

The Successful Applicant

1.Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is preferred.
2.Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Human Resources.
3.Strong knowledge of Japanese labor laws and regulations.
4.Proven experience in talent management, employee relations, and organizational development.
5.Fluency in both Japanese and Mandarin are required.
6.Familiar with Chinese culture is a plus, as it's a China MNC.
