The position holder manages the following duties directly or by supervising his/her employees.
HR Strategic Planning
Creation and implementation of a long term HR strategy for -Japan office and the strategic direction of the organization as a whole including the development and management of goals and objectives.
Actively seek new and cultivate existing relationships with external contacts on HR trends and issues.
Accountable for delivering relevant strategic objectives in line with the approved schedule.
Participate in developing and carrying out organization-wide goals and objectives, formulating and administering policies, and in making decisions with an organization-wide impact.
Identification and mapping of all positions within the organization to assist with the successful implementation of a robust Development and Succession Plan for the organization.
Identify Career Path opportunities and develop mobility, opportunities for employees, working with the Learning and Development Manager
Evaluate the effectiveness of our Performance and Development Systems, then develop and implement an efficient and user friendly Performance Development System.
Develop a co-ordinated and consistent approach to the way in which Japan engages with all staff directly and indirectly.
Provide technical support to departmental internal organization/re-organization processes.

Review and advice on conditions of employment.
Advise management of changes to employment legislation and best practice and make changes as approved.
Review all raises in collaboration with General Director and Head of HQHR.
Be available to Head of HQHR for employee issues, problems
Minimum 5-year experience in HR Management and Employee Relations at a Director level
Strong expertise of the office management of an international organization in Japan and proven abilities to change HR strategies/policies/practices of an organization successfully
Adaptability to a new organizational culture
Solid knowledge of Japanese labor law and HR related regulations
Proactive approach to solve HR related issues
Excellent people and project management skills
Strong in empowering team members and stakeholders by delegating works and coaching staff appropriately
Strong communication and interpersonal skills based upon excellent skills in active listening, assertive communication and negotiation.
Strategic and analytical way of thinking
Proven ability to work under tight deadlines, to manage multiple tasks and to achieve objectives
Native level of Japanese and fluency in English is essential.
Adequate IT literacy and good command of Microsoft Office are required
