Job Description

As head of digital and e-commerce, your focus will be on accelerating digital growth, managing full e-commerce p&l, advancing a "digital first" mindset in the Japan branch of the company, and to bridge the culture between the Japan branch and the broader organisation. These responsibilities include:



  • Identify and scale levers for growth, including digital marketing optimisation, online buying innovation, CRM and personalization, site experience enhancements, and distributed commerce


  • Partner with Marketing and Creative to drive brand engagement and relevance for key marketing campaigns through innovative digital activations


  • Oversee digital marketing, email, site experience, and client services while working closely with buying and online merchandising to optimise digital sales growth


  • Lead execution of E-commerce strategies and develop fully integrated operational and seasonal plans across promotions, marketing, merchandising, site content development, and creative execution


  • Work closely with Supply Chain Operations on improving efficiency and customer experience


  • Partner with Finance to build annual and monthly financial growth plans and budgets


  • Lead priority business requirements on behalf of Japan's E-commerce team with Global Product Management and Technology departments


  • Create opportunities, resources and plans to develop the E-commerce team, while advancing key values of ownership, accountability, problem solving, and results-driven orientation


  • Work across channels, functions, and geographic teams within the company to effectively engage and align all available resources and stakeholders to meet the company goals


  • Identify opportunities across channels and regions; take initiative to create solutions


  • Stay ahead of new technologies in the E-commerce landscape and drive digital excellence

The Successful Applicant

The key factors of the candidate are that they are a digital pioneer, have proven general e-commerce management abilities, have relevant knowledge of the fashion industry, and have excellent organisational and people management skills. To look into this:



  • Expert knowledge of data and insights-driven Marketing within an E-commerce and direct-to-consumer context


  • Proven innovative approach to driving E-commerce growth


  • A history of introducing and adapting new thinking to an established organisation


  • Proven experience in P&L management and driving profitable, sustainable growth for an e-commerce business


  • Operational/functional expertise in E-commerce technologies and platforms


  • Comprehensive knowledge of the digital landscape, including web applications, site merchandising, SEO, social media, digital and email marketing and relevant reporting


  • Solid experience reporting sales and conversion metrics and ROI


  • Demonstrated success in a premium, lifestyle, global brand environment preferred


  • Experience leading E-commerce in a growing, omni-channel organisation preferred


  • A people-focused leader who develops, teaches, and inspires while driving focus on performance


  • Demonstrated capability for building alignment across organisational stakeholders in a global, highly dynamic,

    creatively-driven environment
