Job Description

  • Serve as the registered Compliance Officer for the Tokyo entity, ensuring full compliance with the FIEA (金融商品取引法) and other applicable Japanese regulations.
  • Act as the primary liaison with relevant regulatory bodies, including the JFSA and industry associations.
  • Maintain and update local compliance policies.
  • Monitor employee adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training programs for Tokyo staff.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, disclosures, and licence applications.
  • Support internal/external audits, regulatory examinations, and inquiries.
  • Review local contracts in coordination with external counsel as needed.

The Successful Applicant

  • Relevant compliance experience, ideally within a financial institution or regulatory authority in Japan.
  • Strong understanding of Japanese financial regulations, particularly FIEA (金融商品取引法).
  • Registered (or eligible to register) as a Compliance Officer under Japanese law.
  • Fluent/native Japanese and business English communication skills.
