About Our Client

  • A globally established outdoor clothing brand that has just entered the Japan market with its first flagship store opening in late 2024.

Job Description

  • Build and grow the newly established Japan business as the first local General Manager hire.
  • Create a growth strategy and position the brand for success for the Japan market.
  • Launch the first flagship store in Japan located in Osaka, ensure all operations move smoothly.
  • Hire local talents for the Tokyo office as well as the flagship store located in Osaka.
  • Travel frequently to Osaka and oversee the operations in the Osaka Flagship store.
  • Work with Global/APAC stakeholders to align Japan business growth strategies.

The Successful Applicant

  • 10+ years of experience in retail/fashion industry in Japan as General Manager/Upper management.
  • Outdoor clothing brand experience in Japan is ideal.
  • Proven track record of scaling up/growing business operations.
  • Native level Japanese with Business level English is must.
  • Available for frequent travel to Osaka flagship store.
