The client was founded in Japan in the late 1990s by a renowned medical specialist involved in the chemical industry. Since that time, the brand has become one of the most well-known households names in the cosmetic industry that offers a variety of medical products. The Japan entity has around 250 people in the back office and a total of 800 employees including shop staff in over 160 stores. The business plans to triple growth in the next 10 years by expanding overseas sales and collaborating with China, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Job Description
- Play an integral part of the end-to-end export operations while ensuring finished goods arrive on schedule with no quality issues
- Guides the export team to maximize output and drive cost improvement projects
- Proactive in foreseeing supply risks and using analytic skills to resolve issues internally
- Communicates with stakeholders on any delays identified within the supply-demand while collaborating with regional supply chain team and vendors to maintain benchmark standards.
- Collaborates with supply chain team to ensure execution of new product development to minimize write-offs and reduce finished goods defects
- Works with cross-functional teams to ensure all standards are maintained and reach new export markets
The Successful Applicant
- Master/bachelor's degree
- 3 years of people management experience (in export preferred)
- Ability to effectively lead and communicate with the team
- An adaptive learner with the ability to use their analytic skills to make data-driven decisions
- Rapidly learns new skills and ideas; assimilates complex information
- Able to quickly learn new information and use logic to make decisions
- Ability to work under significant pressure and manages setback, criticism, and tension
- Resistant to change and ability to adapt to changing scenarios
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese
