About Our Client

My client is an international logistics company with LCL as their core/strongest product. My client is one of the largest import and export players for Intra Asia and Europe.

Job Description

Key Areas:

  • To oversee and manage the full spectrum of sales, operation, and financial functions of the country
  • Implement all decisions taken during various review & budget meetings held from time to time in line with organizational goals in the country
  • Set clear goals/targets and ensure they meet the organizational targets/budgets
  • To lead and monitor trade lane development, product, pricing, and business development strategies in the country
  • Ensure all reports are prepared as per guidelines set by the corporate office in respective areas of finance, sales, operations, and administrative matters, which are important for review by the management
  • Understanding the competitor's strategy in the country and suggesting counter strategies or other innovations to fight competition to eventually establish leadership
  • Establish performance/productivity goals that are aggressive, real, and tied to overall company strategy and goals in the country
  • Lead the country in sales efforts, including developing new business, and revenue-generating activities following the company sales plan
  • Overseeing & managing all aspects of the business in the country
  • Positively and actively represent the business interests of the Company in a manner reflecting the high repute and business integrity of the Company throughout your country
  • Provide comprehensive, proactive, effective business leadership
  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations within the area of responsibility
  • Achieve all financial, product volume, revenue, and expense control goals and objectives as established by the Company relative to the position
  • Conduct monthly managerial meetings, monitor and update the progress of sales performance status, & find solutions to problem areas



People Management:

  • Identify, mentor, and develop employees in the country to manage work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and the building of an effective team dynamic
  • Identify potential managers to develop them into key resources for capability building
  • Supervise, lead, and provide guidance to the employees in the Country, while ensuring that their duties are carried out efficiently on a day-to-day or project basis
  • With support of Regional HR - Recruiting, hiring, and retaining employees in your country
  • Partner with Regional HR to review, analyze, and implement HR Initiatives - performance management (Goal Sheets), Job Analysis (productivity), and employee engagement activities
  • Review company rules/ policies & staff welfare, fringe & benefits and keep them competitive in the market with the support of Regional HR

The Successful Applicant

  • Leadership Experience in the logistics industry (LCL is a big plus)
  • Business level in both English and Japanese (Japanese native level is a big plus)
