About Our Client
Our client is a Global Bank with a strong presence and commitment in Japan.

Job Description

• Manage credit underwriting of Japanese financial institutions (banks and non-bank financial institutions) to support business needs. This will include addressing other Risk-related issues such as appropriateness, market risk, etc.
• Manage/approve credit limits for target and existing clients in conjunction with Risk partners, consistent with business plans and the Bank's risk appetite and policies. This is to be achieved through analysis of financial statements, media reports, market intelligence, client calls, etc.
• Facilitate growth by working closely with business partners to develop out-of-the box solutions to support risk acceptability of clients/transactions.
• Initiate change(s) where appropriate to support growth in business, efficiencies, etc.
• Manage portfolio quality on an ongoing basis, in line with Bank policies as well as regulatory guidelines.
• Facilitate satisfactory outcomes from internal and external audit/regulatory reviews.

The Successful Applicant

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accountancy or related disciplines. MBA would be an advantage.
• Minimum 4 – 6 years of relevant experience with a major financial institution/ Bank.
• Experience with non-bank financial institutions (such as broker-dealers, insurance companies) will be an advantage.
• Experience in capital markets products (derivatives, FX, etc) and trade finance will be an advantage.
• Solid credit risk skills and broad product knowledge (trade, payments, trading floor products).
• Good communication skills, with ability to manage across all levels.
• Strong team player.
• Good command of both written and oral English and Japanese language skills are required.
