IT System Administrator
• Ensure proper operations of IT systems and infrastructure• Installing and configuring server and storage hardware, operating systems and server applications.• Supervise monitoring systems and resolve or escalate problems• Plan, install and document patches to server OS, hardware and applications• Responsible for 2nd level support. Troubleshooting server and network problems, if needed in cooperation with 3rd level support and/or external partners.• Participates as a team member in projects also in technical research and development and implementation• Create, review and update backup processes as well as recovery actions, data management and disaster recovery• Ensure availability according to Service Level Agreements• Provide status reporting• Provide recommendations for improvement • VIP support • Maintain software distribution systems for clients and servers, review and approve distribution.
This role requires strong expertise in the area of IT infrastructure as well as related processes. Being part of the global IT infrastructure organization, the role requires transparency and loyalty while expected working independently. The person must have outstanding technical, analytical and problem-solving skills. • Minimum 3 years experience as IT system administrator• Experience with 2nd level support• Experience with systems management solutions• Team player• Good spoken and written English• Strong problem solving skills• Analytical skills• Willing to make key decisions• Excellent technical skills• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language• Rapidly adapt to changes in environment and priorities• Demonstrated experience in applying escalation criteria and successful timing of issue escalation• Experience working in global business environment• Availability to work flexible hours as needed
