Reporting to the Sales Director of Asia, the Senior Manager will be responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing and business development for business in Japan. Leading a 20 person strong team you will be tasked with ensuring a high level of customer engagement, building stronger partnerships with tier 1 customers and maintaining a key focus on the critical technical aspects required to ensure a long-term solution based relationships. This position is expected to generate new business from new and existing customers, build strong customer loyalty, and achieve significant sales growth. He or she will play the key role in driving aggressive growth plans both in the near and long term. He or she will support and promote business strategy and initiatives by building and managing high-performance teams, developing and executing sales plans, allocating appropriate resources to highest-value customers, and developing internal and external relationships.
The Successful Applicant
*Significant sales and marketing experience in the electronic components industry with management experience with direct sales models
*Experience and knowledge of the Japan Aerospace, Defense and Marine industry and customers are preferred
*A team player with a self-starting, entrepreneurial drive for results and the ability to effectively manage an extended lead sales cycle.
*Strong in customer facing environments along with a proven track record of building strong relationship with key accounts and partners.
*Ability to drive sustainable sales growth with a track record of constantly meeting and exceeding revenue targets.
*Must have a strong solution selling capability. Able to communicate the business value of proposed products and solutions.
*Effective in a highly matrix global organisation with multiple lines of businesses. Either working experience in a multinational organisation or in overseas operations is preferred.
*Demonstrated success as a strong leader who can build, develop and retain a world-class team. Must be a team builder, people developer and team participant.
*Organisational skills, sociability, optimism, high energy, enthusiasm, and integrity are key characteristics required for success.
*Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with strong interpersonal skills.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English.
*A Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree such as MBA is desired.
