About Our Client
Our client is an established global company, headquartered outside Japan. They have a strong, stable, traditional business focused on tangible, B2B products as well as an equally successful technology business that is looking to grow significantly in Japan.
*Partner with business leaders in Japan to understand and support growth, product and business objectives; ensuring that Marketing successfully contributes to the attainment of those objectives;
*Develop the product marketing plan that is aligned to both sales and regional marketing plans.
*Solid experience in product management and marketing including experience in managing integrated product launches and the development of product and sales collaterals;
*Work closely with regional product management on product positioning and marketing.
*Strong understanding of how market segmentation applies to the region and how market insights influence marketing and sales plans, including but not limited to: behavioral and buying patterns. Identify areas that will create the biggest impact, such as new customer segments and new market entry. Work both locally and with Global Market Intelligence team to deliver the market data and insights required;
*Serve as a thought leader for the Japan business with proven success in delivering thought leadership content in multiple formats; events, presentations, video, audio, webinars, customer visits etc;
*Manage and contribute to key strategic projects from time to time as required, to ensure seamless and successful delivery to achieve desired outcomes;
*Collaborate with the relevant Global VP's of Marketing and Communications to understand their overall global marketing plans and to engage the global team in contributing to Japan efforts;
*Partner with Global Media Relations Lead on external communications as and when required;
*Technically savvy with an understanding and appreciation of product development and product management
The Successful Applicant
*Degree qualified with 5-7 years' experience in marketing, primarily in product management and marketing. Marketing Communications experience will also be advantageous.
*Excellent speaking and written English
*Compelling oral and communication skills
*Strong analytical and strategic skills as well as ability to be hands-on
*Professional presentation, positive energy, creative thinker and demonstrated ability working with senior leadership across a matrix organization
*Developed and proven project management expertise, featuring the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
*Multicultural awareness in a matrixed organization an advantage
*Limited travel may be required
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively influence direct and indirect relationships.
Desirable Experiences and Background:
*Marketing experience in IT related technology field and/or experience working in a start-up technology company
*Strong technical/engineering background
*Experience in Hardware/software, cloud services and SaaS environment
*Curious and driven to learn and understand how things work - keen sense of business
*Has strong desire to develop professional career in a global company
