About Our Client
Our client is a small foreign securities firm but with established business here in Japan.
*Morning visual checks of facilities / infrastructure. Checking for warning lights on equipment and abnormal sensor readings. Basic check of infrastructure monitoring page.
*Keeping the facilities tidy and in order. Including IT storage and data centre areas.
*Asset tracking and recording of all equipment items and matching to location
*Line installations and email with vendors. Doing co-ordination and tachiai where required.
*Building PCs with company standard desktop build. Installing additional software components manually or via SCCM
*Using SCCM to schedule security patching or other software
*Moving and installing PCs/ monitors & servers
*Physical patching of PCs and servers
*Support for Video and telephone conferencing
*Setting up of new users in the PBX and Dealing telephone system
*Testing of telephony equipment including recording functions
*Maintenance of documentation to record user settings for telephony and telephony recording
*Desktop support and troubleshooting on Windows 7 / Office 2010. Provide 1st and 2nd level support and detailed troubleshooting on business applications, and escalation to the appropriate support team as needed.
*Checking external systems such as Exchange / Clearing extranets for IT related updates or news
*Maintenance and support of mobile devices (iPhones). Setting up of new users
*Creating or enhancing documentation
*Provide a 'remote hands' service for regional infrastructure teams
*Collaborates with other Helpdesk teams in the region (by communicating about findings, fixes and documentation, whenever required).
*Works with regional infrastructure and application support teams as required to deploy new business initiatives or technology upgrades
*Setting up new users in local systems (security, banking systems, other 3rd party systems)
*Paperwork - filing of documentation. Filling in forms and sending back. Taking copies and filing
The Successful Applicant
- IT helpdesk experience
- Finance industry experience is a plus
- Able to communicate in both Japanese and English
