About Our Client
Our client is the multinational cosmetics company introducing the latest brand in Japan.
・Develop, lead and execute e-commerce strategies across multiple sites/brands to achieve significant revenue growth and EBITDA contribution.
・Accelerate e-commerce and online customer acquisition, especially via digital demand creation (not triggered by TV) marketing activities, while meeting CPO (cost per order) targets.
・Manage online advertising & digital production budgets and an implementation team covering all key functional areas: online ads & promotions, SEO, SEM, contents marketing, social media, affiliates, online creative, and web operations.
・Continuously optimize online marketing mix based on web channel performance and ROI (return on investment).
・Improve digital customer experience and constantly test new landing pages, creative executions, marketing tactics, and new offers.
・Create a results-oriented and metrics-driven culture where decisions are supported by market trends, customer research, testing, analysis and measurement.
・Manage and cultivate digital agency/vendor relationships, and act as chief digital liaison and negotiator with internal/external partners.
・Represent the department at management meetings, and collaborate with Brand Marketing, Media, Creative, Systems, Analytics, Finance, and other global e-commerce leaders/departments.
・Set short-term and mid- to long-term goals for the department, monitor status, and create improvement plans toward achievement. Recruit, supervise & cultivate departmental employees.
The Successful Applicant
・10+ years experience with an extensive background in Japan consumer internet / e-commerce at a respected internet company or online channel of a multichannel player (at least 3 years in a leadership role with substantial revenue or P&L responsibility).
・Significant online performance-based marketing experience (both customer acquisition and retention), including SEO/SEM, affiliates, display, email, mobile, social media, landing page optimization, etc.
・Strong understanding of user interface and website design, merchandising/ promotion, web operations, and technology.
・Bachelor degree, MBA desired (especially from a U.S. business school).
・Fluent/functional in both Japanese and English.
