About Our Client
Our client is proud to boast a network that provides service to millions of Internet users around the world. The Network Engineering team is responsible for operating that network reliably and at scale. As a member of the team, you have a direct impact on design and feature enhancements to keep our systems running smoothly. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring network performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to network connectivity issues.
Review deployed technologies, performance, capacity and standard level agreement's (SLA) from a strategic point of view and provide recommendations that spawn new projects for the team.
Collaborate with other network and systems engineers and software developers in order to create and maintain best practices across the team. Review processes and best practices to ensure quality and efficiency of deployments and operations; evaluate and approve exceptions to design standards.
Participate in global change management meetings. Provide training on features and functionality that are currently deployed.
The Successful Applicant
BA/BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, related degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience scripting in shell and/or Python or other programing language.
Experience in linux administration, including systems imaging, automation, and resource management and troubleshooting.
Experience in network protocol function and troubleshooting (e.g. BGP, OSPF, ISIS, MPLS, STP).
5 years of industry experience in networking environments including proficiency in coding or scripting.
Substantial operational experience with enterprise class routers, switches, firewalls and wireless controllers. Experience with Cisco, Juniper and Aruba.
Experience with networking on and in virtualized server environments or with SDN.
Experience with network management system (NMS) maintenance, administration, and automation.
Well versed in the theory and operation of network protocols - TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, layer 2 forwarding concepts, IPSec, and routing protocols
Demonstrable skills in network design, implementation and integration in operationally sensitive production environments.
